Legatics, the transaction management platform used by leading law firms globally, today announced a partnership with Harvey, the leading operating system for legal and professional services to bring live deal context within Harvey.
Legatics holds what a transactional AI needs and cannot otherwise get at, which is the live state of the deal: what is outstanding, who owes it, what has been signed and what changed this morning. This is the context law firms need to conduct more informed drafting, research and analysis in Harvey.
Harvey is the place where many lawyers start their work, reviewing, drafting and analysing documents at a level firms have not had before. That work is greatly enhanced by the context of the deal around the document. The Legatics connector, built on the Legatics MCP server, delivers it directly from the deal record, whether the question is about a single matter or the firm’s transactions as a whole.
“Harvey is where a lot of the thinking on a deal now happens. Legatics is where the deal itself lives: the parties, the documents, what’s been signed and the status of everything running on it. For me, Harvey is the brain of the deal and Legatics is the body. The brain does the thinking, the body is where the deal gets done, and a lawyer needs the two connected. This connector joins them. It gives Harvey the context of the deal, live, whenever a lawyer asks a question,” said Anthony Seale, Founder and CEO of Legatics.
“This partnership came from our mutual customers. They were asking Harvey for a Legatics connection before we had started talking to each other, because they could see the value of the two systems working together on a live deal,” said Rob MacAdam, Chief Product & Strategy Officer at Legatics. “Legatics is transaction infrastructure. It is where deals get done, whether a human or an AI is doing the work. This partnership opens that up to Harvey, and it is the first step in a much closer relationship between our two platforms.”
Live deal context inside Harvey
Harvey users can query real matter data held in Legatics: parties and deal facts, the status of the checklists and trackers running on the matter, binders and the contents of data rooms. That works for a single deal or across many at once, so a lawyer can ask where one deal stands as easily as which of their matters need escalation this week. Answers come from Legatics as the source of truth, not from a static export.
Firms stay in control throughout. Access follows the user: Harvey sees only what that person is already permitted to see in Legatics. As agents take on more of the work on a deal, the controls firms already use to govern who can see and do what on a matter apply to an agent working in Harvey exactly as they apply to a person. Every access is logged in the matter’s audit trail and administrators can switch the connection off at any time. The connector is available to all Legatics customers at no additional cost.
What comes next
The Legatics connector is now available in Harvey’s Connector Library. This integration enables closer handoffs between the two platforms as Harvey workflows are enriched with real-time deal data from Legatics.
“Legal teams rely on Harvey for transactional work. Connecting the Legatics MCP server with Harvey now means a lawyer gets an answer grounded in the current state of a deal, with the firm’s own permissions intact,” said Nate Schlein, Head of Product Business Development at Harvey.
Legatics and Harvey are working towards bringing write actions to the connector, which will make this a genuine two-way connection where work done in Harvey feeds straight back into the live deal record. A lawyer will be able to set up a new matter or build a closing checklist with a single prompt, or ask Harvey to take the change of control provisions it has found across a set of contracts and add them to a Legatics list with owners and next steps.
