Legatics CEO Anthony on Future of Women in Legal panel at Barclays Eagle Labs

Anthony Seale sitting with the Eagle Labs panel

On Monday 30 September, Legatics CEO and founder Anthony Seale spoke as a member of the panel at the Barclays Eagle Lab #thoughtleadership event on The Future of Women in Legal. He was joined on the panel by Luke Lewis (A&O), Esi Armah-Tetteh (A&O), Win Chung (Barclays), Sue McLean (Baker MacKenzie), Anna Donovan (UCL) and Jane Holloway (University of Ulster).

Anthony discussed how he saw legal technology like Legatics benefiting work/life balance. “The scalable nature of software breaks the link between one hour of work and one hour of output. As software becomes a larger part of legal service provision it will be increasingly possible to deliver more extensive client value without the same level of input time. This is an opportunity for women who want to have a greater client impact whilst maintaining a work/life balance.”

He also stressed the ability of LegalTech to allow women to forge new career paths within the legal ecosystem. “The legal technology industry is booming. People who are joining the industry now will be the future leaders of a large, new and important industry, as it grows beneath them. This represents a significant opportunity for women who wish to lead an industry and places an obligation on those recruiting to ensure there is a gender diversity.”

The Future of Women in Legal is a hugely important topic and a key focus for Legatics. It was brilliant to hear the rest of the fantastic panel share their views and we look forward to remaining part of this conversation in the coming months.
