Legatics supercharges wet-ink signing into 21st century

Legal transaction management software used by A&O Shearman, Nelson Mullins and DLA Piper leverages AI to make signing simpler, quicker and friction-free

London, 26 September 2024: Fast-growing legal transaction management software Legatics has launched its latest release, designed to streamline wet-ink signing workflows for lawyers.

Its new wet-ink signing feature ‘Collate’ automatically detects signature pages with AI, helps lawyers match them to their documents and signatories, allows easy page reordering and annotations, and seamlessly collates new, finalised PDF documents in a flash.

For lawyers and transaction management teams, it means simplified signing management and quicker deal closures without needing to drag pages in PDFs, manually update signature trackers, or strong signed files in multiple places.

The new feature was developed following feedback from Legatics customers and integrates AI to provide a comprehensive signing workflow adaptable to any deal  types where electronic signature isn’t used.

Used across multiple practice areas, with strong traction in Banking & Finance, Corporate M&A and Real Estate, Legatics has been adopted  by 4 of the top 5 Global 200 law firms by revenue1 to manage transactions efficiently. Its new signature capabilities can be used to collect signature pages for documents within documents lists, closing checklists and conditions precedent checklists.

The latest release also includes an integration with NetDocuments, a leading document management system that will help meet the needs of the company’s growing US customer base.

Daniel Porus, CCO at Legatics said the new wet-ink signing feature would help lawyers reduce the time spent on heavy signature processes. He commented, “As a team of many former lawyers, we’ve been in the trenches. Printing out signature pages, uploading documents, setting up folders and trackers at the start of a new transaction – we know how painful it can be.

Today’s upgrade is all about simplifying signing processes and getting lawyers back to the more strategic work they most enjoy. We listened to our customers and are so excited to launch new features that showcase our commitment to innovation.”

Ryan Turner, Head of Product at Legatics added, “The best thing about Collate is that it’s adaptable to any deal and document type. Wet-ink signature is, by its nature, the one part of a transaction that will never be fully digitised, but we’re making it as seamless as possible.

Our customers can see real value in using our platform to gather signed pages, match and insert them back into documents and create a fully signed final document. It’ll help them track projects, close faster and reduce the risk of mistakes being made.”
