Morais Leitão chose Legatics to assist on the refinancing of a major shopping centre in the Oporto region, conducted in English. The firm used Legatics for the generation of various CP checklists, the finance documents list, the upload and management of executed documents, and the creation of transaction bibles to be sent to the parties involved. Engagement from transaction parties was high. The banks were extremely impressed with the platform and said they would use it again. In particular, they liked the transparency and control Legatics provided, giving greater visibility in comparison to traditional deals.
Legatics also enabled banks to ask back-office staff to review and sign off on the CP documents. Borrowers were really enthusiastic about the platform, especially because it allowed them to keep track of the current statuses of different work streams. Their internal lawyers were quick to learn how to use Legatics and used the system directly to upload documents, which removed the need for traditional document management.
