Your AI. Your deals. Live.
Legatics is the transaction infrastructure your firm’s AI can use. Connect any MCP-compatible AI assistant to live deal data and get real answers about your real matters.
- The context gap
AI tools are only as useful as the context they have.
Most AI tools can answer general legal questions. But when a lawyer asks “what’s still outstanding on this matter?”, the AI can’t answer directly. The context is scattered — email threads, shared drives, spreadsheets, personal trackers and whoever’s closest to the deal — and someone has to pull it together every time it’s needed.
Legatics is the purpose-built place where that context lives, structured and current.
- The transaction layer, connected to AI
Legatics gives your AI live, structured access to the deal.
MCP (Model Context Protocol) is an open standard that lets AI tools connect to other systems safely and reliably. This means any AI your firm uses can read live deal data from Legatics — actual matter status, signing updates, actual outstanding conditions — and answer questions about your deals in real time. From the source, not from an old export or a general training dataset.
The connector is AI-agnostic by design. It works with whichever AI your firm has chosen or plans to use.
What the MCP connector unlocks for your firm
AI that actually knows what’s happening on the deal
Live matter status, live signing information, live outstanding conditions. Not a best guess. Not training data. The right answer, from the right source.
AI that reduces information retrieval work
Lawyers spend hours compiling deal status updates. AI connected to Legatics via MCP can surface outstanding conditions, signing blockers and matter progress in seconds, from a live source.
Works with any AI you choose
MCP is a shared, open standard. Any AI that supports it can connect to Legatics — the one your firm uses today and the one it might use tomorrow.
Security built for AI, not bolted on
OAuth 2.0 with PKCE, scoped permissions, short-lived tokens and full audit logging. AI access to Legatics data is governed the same way as any other enterprise integration. IT teams have full visibility and can revoke access at any time.
Legatics becomes more valuable as AI adoption grows
As firms invest more in AI, Legatics becomes the platform the AI works through, not the one lawyers have to leave before using AI.
No new budget line, no procurement cycle
The MCP connector ships as part of your existing Legatics agreement. Included for all customers at no additional cost.
How it works
[01]
Connect the AI tool
Authorise your AI assistant to access Legatics through the MCP standard. Set up takes minutes via the admin system.
[02]
Define the scope
System admins grant access with defined scopes. The AI can only see what it has been explicitly authorised to see.
[03]
AI queries Legatics in real time
When a user asks the AI a deal-related question, it retrieves live data directly from Legatics through the MCP connector.
What your AI can access
Matters
Current matter status and metadata. Instant answers about where things stand.
Lists
Task assignments, conditions and completion progress. AI can report accurately on what’s outstanding and what’s done.
Signing
Signing method and execution status per document. AI can answer signing and closing-readiness questions.
Binders
Closing set structure and document references and metadata. AI can navigate the full transaction record.
Data rooms
Folder structure and file names. AI can answer questions about document organisation and availability.
Audit
The AI answers using current, structured Legatics data. Every access event is logged. Firms can revoke access at any time via the admin system.
FAQ
What is the Model Context Protocol?
MCP (Model Context Protocol) is an open standard developed by Anthropic and being adopted across the AI industry. It lets AI tools connect to other systems safely. Because Legatics supports MCP, any AI your firm uses can connect to it — no need to commit to one AI vendor.
How is access controlled?
Access is authorised via the Legatics admin system using OAuth 2.0 with PKCE — the same security architecture as enterprise integrations. Scoped permissions, short-lived tokens and full audit logging give IT teams complete visibility and control. Each AI application is authorised independently, user-level permissioning is enforced, and access can be revoked at any time.
Is this an add-on? Does it cost extra?
No. The MCP connector is included for all Legatics customers at no additional cost. Access is available to all customers by design.
How is this different from a DMS integration?
A DMS holds documents. Legatics holds the transaction layer — structured workflow, status, task ownership and accountability. For deal-specific questions, AI needs both: the documents and the transaction context. The Legatics MCP connector provides the transaction layer.
Legatics is the transaction infrastructure your firm’s AI can use
Whichever AI tools your firm chooses, the MCP connector gives them live, secure access to the deal data they need to be useful.
